When Silence Matters

We have been accustomed to noise.

The television is always on,

Headphones blasting music in our ears,

Radio commentaries that rival the market’s loud calls to customers each morning,

“All by Myself” in the loudest volume in passenger jeeps and buses,

Cellphone alarms,

Car honking in desperation during rush hours.

From dawn to dusk, we hardly escape noise.

It’s a normal thing already that silence seems to be almost nil.

We’re all too busy to take a break.

Wanting to know the answers to the most pressing questions of the heart?

Take a break from the noise.

Spend more time in prayer, listening intently to the what He says.

Most of the time, the answers are already there…

you just have to listen well.

Silence, it matters.
